The Veretyevo Art Estate is a popular holiday destination in the Moscow region, well known to the entire creative community of the capital. Once upon a time, the biennale of youth art “Stop, who is coming!”, the festival of contemporary art “Art-Veretyevo”, as well as numerous art happenings with the participation of artists, designers, musicians, and journalists took place here. The art objects created by them adorn the territory of the art estate today. In addition, this summer a landscape park designed by architect Alexander Brodsky appeared here – a large-scale work of land art on an area of 7 hectares.

And recently, among the architectural structures of this park, a new object appeared – “Reading Room”. This is a unique venue under a glass dome for events with a capacity of up to 150 people. Why is she called that? Because it is also a library: there are shelves with books inside the dome. You can come here to read in silence and admire the snow-covered landscape. Of course, in their free time from events.

“Reading in the park is such a tried and tested tradition that it is even strange to cite examples of those who did it. The book and the park are connected on so many levels, so obviously connected, that when in the story about the garden of forking paths, dear to many of us, the novel and the park merge into one, we are not at all surprised,  – says architectural critic Grigory Revzin.  “A book and a park—at least a novel and a park—have almost the same structure: paths—floorings—plot lines, objects—events. This park, of course, is in many ways a book, and we, walking through it, become its heroes. And that's why it is the perfect reading space. A space where those who read and those they read about coexist, side by side, meet.”
