The fame of the commune of Couvre, located forty minutes from Paris, brought Disneyland. Otherwise, this area is almost not built up: most of it is occupied by fields. Now, Couvre has a new attraction – an elementary school building with an unusual curved roof, designed by the studio archi5. The school was the first building in the new area and serves as a community center with a multifunctional hall where residents can hold events.

The school building is a curved volume of complex shape. The silhouette of the building then falls, then rises, as if playing with the horizon line. The façade is clad in gray-blue Belgian limestone on the outside, while wooden panels of a warm shade “look” into the courtyard. The interior is made in light colors. Part of the walls of the classrooms are also finished with wood. Huge windows fill the space with sunlight, creating the best conditions for productive learning.
