Until early December, the Istituto Veneto di Scienze in Venice hosts an exhibition of unique designer glass.

Exhibition at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze (Venetian Institute of Science and Art) is dedicated to modern design glass in the widest range. The first things date back to the 1950s, the last ones are just from the authors.

Most of the work is Italian, but there are also masters from other countries, including overseas studios from Canada and the USA. The works are also diverse: these are familiar vases, decor items, and pure art in the form of art objects.

Giochi di sponda exhibition. double act. Una collezione di vetro contemporaneo was initiated by the famous Italian gallery owner Caterina Tognon. She works with the Venetian gallery Caterina Tognon Arte Contemporanea and is considered a major connoisseur of designer glass.

The exposition, in fact, is made up of items from one private collection, which Thonon helped the philanthropist Serena Coloni collect for many years. The collector bought her first things when she was still very young, but she began to make a collection with precision already in the 1990s. The collection has been formed over 30 years and includes the author's glass of fifty modern and retrospective glass artists.

The exhibition presents the work of 53 masters, a total of 106 items, representing a vivid picture of designer glass of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The exhibition is open until 10 December. The Istituto Veneto di Scienze occupies the historic Palazzo Loredan on Campo Santo Stefano.
