“House of Memory” is an experimental residential building project in Singapore. The building, with its unusually large roof and completely windowless façades, draws attention from the street. The owners of the house are a large family in which many generations are represented. That is why, working on this project, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu (Lyndon Neri & Rossana Hu, the founders of the famous studio Neri & Hu, started from the idea of collective memory. They studied family history for a long time and wanted to understand how memories and the format of living together can affect the arrangement of the house.

The Memory House has two floors. The ground floor is organized around a courtyard inspired by traditional Chinese architecture. At this level, there are common areas in which family members communicate and interact with each other as much as possible. Panoramic glazing was made around the entire perimeter of the first floor – this is how the designers sought to connect the interior space not only with the courtyard, but also with the garden surrounding the house. jpg” />
Unlike the first floor, which is as open as possible from the outside and from the inside, the second floor is isolated. Here are the personal spaces of family members & nbsp; – bedrooms with small windows. And to make the rooms brighter, the designers made unusual skylights overlooking the courtyard. wp-content/uploads/2022/04/fdc0ea2df2f64196b239d49d3717af86.jpg” width=”728″ height=”971″ class=”lazy-image__image _align-center” data-v-64ca9b5a=”1″ alt=”A house with a huge pitched roof in Singapore designed by Neri & Hu” />
