In the German city of Augsburg, an unusual installation of multi-colored concrete “bricks” was installed on one of the central squares. Designed by Annabau Architektur and Landschaft

An unusual installation appeared on one of the district squares of the German city of Augsburg. It is a complex structure of concrete cubes of different colors stacked on top of each other. The project studios Annabau Architektur and Landschaft used 165 concrete cubes, 22 of which are equipped with light-conducting fibers.
Initially, there were barracks at the installation site. They were built during the Second World War, and then for almost 20 years (since 1994) they were abandoned. Finally, the authorities of Augsburg were able to return this place to the citizens and initiated the construction of a useful recreational facility.
As planned by the authorities, this square should become the center of the public life of the city. You can sit down on a structure made of colored concrete cubes to relax with a glass of coffee, and, of course, children will use it with great pleasure. At night, the cubes are partially illuminated, turning the structure into an unusual light sculpture. 2022/04/7c2fd0f5e5dd9ad82e77c9514c727acf.jpg” width=”727″ height=”484″ class=”lazy-image__image _align-center” data-v-64ca9b5a=”1″ alt=”Concrete cube installation in Germany” />
