The American studio wHY Architecture presented the project of the new Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. P. I. Tchaikovsky in Perm. The building with panoramic glazing is planned to be built on the banks of the Kama River in one of the famous opera and ballet centers in Russia.
The undulating roof resembles the smooth movements of dancers performing on the stage, and the choice of copper scale is inspired by the history of mining of valuable metal in the south of the Urals. The floor of the opera house is covered with red carpets that lead to different rooms.
In the first images of the project, you can see the ceiling of wooden panels with contours carved on them, reminiscent of countries on the map. The accent detail of the hall will be a chandelier, which with luminous balls “descends” to the lower floor.
The Perm Opera and Ballet Theater existing in the city was built in 1870 and is one of the oldest in the country. One of the most popular ballet troupes in Russia performs here. The theater is named after the composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who was born in a small town near the Perm province. /wp-content/uploads/2022/06/9bec2b4bbb7c900344bfaa48217dce21.jpg” width=”728″ height=”410″ class=”lazy-image__image _align-center” data-v-64ca9b5a=”1″ alt=”Opera theater project and ballet in Perm (photo 6)” />
