The project, which is being carried out by the development company Vi Holding Development, involves the construction of a multifunctional complex on the site of the Tushino airfield with a business park, residential development, developed social infrastructure (two schools, two kindergartens, a clinic), sports facilities (among which an ice palace and the center of rhythmic gymnastics) and landscaped park areas.
Architectural giants such as Massimiliano Fuksas, MAD, Tsimailo Lyashenko & Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects and Stevel Holl Architects participated in the competition. As a result, the winner was Stephen Hall's bureau, which will implement its project together with the Russian studio Kamen, headed by architects Vadim and Ivan Grekov. jpg” />Tushino project, Steven Holl Architects (USA) and Kamen Art Group (Russia)
Architects propose a new development typology – the so-called “parachute hybrids”, combining residential and public spaces. Tushino can become an important urban model for ultra-dense residential development in 21st century cities with the right focus on public and open areas,” comments Steven Hall, author of the project. “The new typology we propose is inspired by the unique history of this place.”
The image of a parachute is also used in the design of buildings: round holes with colored internal inserts resemble the wing of a paraglider hovering in the air. ” height=”553″ class=”lazy-image__image _align-top” data-v-0571743d=”1″ />+1
