The country's first “green” residential complex appeared in Huanggang
February 1, 2022In the Chinese city of Huanggang, the construction of the Easyhome Huanggang complex has been completed. A few weeks ago, the first tenants moved into apartments located in two and five towers with vertical gardening.
Vertical Forest is the invention of the Italian architect Stefano Boeri. The first such project, Bosco Verticale, appeared in Milan, and later the concept was adapted for social housing in Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

The towers of the Easyhome Huanggang complex in Hubei province are 80 meters high. More than 400 trees were planted at special sites, as well as other plants. According to the studio's project, green spaces will be able to absorb 22 tons of carbon dioxide and produce 11 tons of oxygen per year.
The version of the skyscraper in China is built according to a new principle: it combines open and closed balconies, above which are planters for trees and other plantings. Such an architectural solution will allow the residents of Easyhome Huanggang to take a fresh look at the urban space and feel surrounded by nature in the city center, said Boeri. “/>
In addition to the building complex in Huanggang, Boeree Studio will soon open several more vertical garden towers in Nanjing, a metropolitan area in the east of the country. “In recent years, we have seen a lot of interest in landscaping in China as a tool to absorb fine dust, which is one of the main contributors to urban air pollution,” says the architect.
rethink the requirements for a sustainable lifestyle,” adds Xu Yibo, partner of Stefano Boeri Architetti in China. src=”/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/656ef0e5cba7770c3b081ec3506289e9.jpg” width=”728″ height=”1092″ class=”lazy-image__image _align-center” data-v-057 1743d=”1″ alt=”Photo #6 – Vertical forest: A skyscraper designed by Stefano Boeri has opened in China” />
